Shenzhen Airlines keeps its own 479 series

Air China Cargo uses 999, while the Air China-group carrier Shenzhen Airlines lists 479. The issuing prefix on a master air waybill identifies the record to use even if the shipment involves a flight elsewhere in the group.

Why CA and CAO both appear

When the cargo airline took over Air China's freighter traffic rights, it retained CA and the 999 air waybill code while changing its three-character operating code to CAO. For shipment lookup, use the 999 master air waybill number rather than a flight code.

About Air China Cargo

Air China Cargo operates a multi-hub freight network spanning Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. Those gateways serve different parts of China, so the airport shown in a shipment's events tells a more specific story than the airline's national name alone.
